Privacy policy

A short policy, because there is not much to collect

This site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no shopping cart and no checkout, so most of the usual categories of personal data simply have nowhere to land here.

What this site collects directly

If you email the address on the contact page, this site receives whatever you choose to include in that message — your address and anything you write. That information is used only to reply and to correct the page you wrote about, and is not sold or shared with any third party for marketing purposes.

Ordinary server logs

Like most websites, the hosting used for this site may keep basic technical logs — things like IP address, browser type and the page requested — for security and operational purposes. These are standard web-server records, not a tracking profile built about any individual visitor.

Cookies

This site does not set its own advertising or tracking cookies. If a cookie appears in your browser while visiting, it is most likely coming from the hosting infrastructure itself or from a font provider loading a typeface, not from anything this site has configured to identify you.

Affiliate links and the seller's own site

The "order" links on this site lead to the seller's own checkout, on a different domain this site does not control. Once you follow that link, the seller's privacy policy — not this one — governs anything you enter there, including payment details. This site never sees your card information and never stores it.

Links to outside resources

Where this site links to public reference pages, such as NIH or FDA resources, following those links takes you to a different site with its own privacy practices.

Your choices

You can browse this site without submitting anything. Contacting the editors is optional and only happens if you choose to send an email. Because this site holds so little personal data to begin with, most data-subject requests (such as asking what is held about you) can be answered simply: for a visitor who has not emailed the site, effectively nothing beyond routine server logs; for one who has, the content of that email exchange, which can be deleted on request.

Children

This site is intended for adults 18 and over and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

This page may be updated from time to time as the site itself changes. The version posted here is the current one; the date in the footer reflects the last review.
